كتابُ تفسيرٍ يكشف عن وجوه الإعجاز القرآني البلاغية، والأسلوبية، واللغوية، احتشد له مؤلفه؛ ليخرجه في أبهى حلة بيانية. بيد أن العلماء يحذرون قارئيه من الاعتزاليات الاعتقادية المبثوثة في تضاعيفه؛ وهذا ما حدا بابن المنير أن يتتبع هذه الاعتزاليات، ويفندها على هامش الكشاف.
وهو أشهر تفاسير المعتزلة الذي أبان به المؤلف وجوه الإعجاز البلاغي في القرآن الكريم ، لإلمامه بلغة العرب ، ومعرفته بأشعارهم ، وإحاطته بعلوم البلاغة والبيان ، والإعراب والأدب ، فأضفى ذلك في تفسيره لآيات الله تعالى ، وحسن البيان .
انتشر الكتاب في الآفاق ، واعترف الجميع بفضله ، وغزارة علمه ، وبراعته ، وحسن الصناعة فيه . وكان الكشاف أول تفسير يكشف عن سر بلاغة القرآن ووجوه إعجازه ودقة معانيه في ألفاظه ، مما كان له الأثر الكبير في عجز العرب عن معارضته والإتيان بمثله .
وذكر الزمخشري فيه الشواهد العربية التي وصلت إلى ألف بيت ، واهتم بالإعراب والنحو ، وتعرض باختصار شديد إلى المسائل الفقهية في آيات الأحكام ، وبينها باعتدال وعدم تعصب لمذهبه ( الحنفي ) .
لكن الزمخشري استغل تفسيره لنشر مبادىء المعتزلة ، والانتصار لمذهبه فيها ، ويحاول جهده أن يتذرع بالمعاني اللغوية لذلك ، ويؤيد عقائد المعتزلة بكل ما يملك من قوة الحجة ، وسلطان الدليل ، وعرض أحيانا لبعض الروايات الإسرائيلية ، ويصدرها بلفظ "روي" الذي يشعر بضعف الرواية وبعدها عن الصحة ، وختم كل سورة بحديث يبين فضلها وثواب قارئها ، لكن هذه الأحاديث التي ذكرها أكثرها ضعيف أو موضوع .

Al-Kashshaaf 'an Haqa'iq at-Tanzil, popularly known as Tafsir Al-Kashshaaf is a seminal tafsir by Al-Zamakhshari written in the 12th century. Considered a primary source by all major scholars, it is famous for its deep linguistic analysis, demonstrations of the supremacy of declamation of the Quran, and the representation of the method the Quran uses to convey meaning using literary elements and figurative speech. However, it is criticized for the inclusion of Muʿtazilah philosophical views.
It has unveiled the faces of qur'anic miracles and rhetorical meanings in graphic suit. It's really one of the famous tafsir of Mu'tazila, in which, Allamah Zamakhshari has appeared the Rhetorics & accuracy of the holy Qur'an in a unique style.
That's why this tafsir has held high position and gained most popularity among Ulema.
About The Author
Al-imam Abi Al-qasim Jara Allah Mahmud Ibn Omar Ibn Muhammad Al-Zamakhshari Al-Khawarizmi (467-538 H) was born in Zamakhshar, Khwarezmia. He used Persian for some of his work, although he was a strong supporter of the Arabic language as well as an opponent of the Shu'ubiyya movement. After losing one of his feet to frostbite, he carried a notarized declaration that his foot was missing due to accident, rather than a legal amputation for any crime.
He is best known for Al-Kashshaaf, a seminal commentary on the Qur'an. The commentary is famous for its deep linguistic analysis of the verses, however has been criticised for the inclusion of Mu'tazilite philosophical views.
For many years he stayed in Makkah, for which he became known as Jar-Allah ("God's neighbour"). He later returned to Khwarizm, where he died at the capital Jurjaniyya.
He died in 1144 at al-Jurjaniya, Khwarezm.
He studied at Bukhara and Samarkand while enjoying the fellowship of jurists of Baghdad.
Imam Zamakhshari's fame as a commentator, rests upon his commentary on the Qur'an.
