The discussion regarding clarifying rulings, understanding texts, and establishing rules is no longer limited to scholarly mujtahids in our era. Instead, it has become a subject of contention and disagreement among all factions, despite their differing stances. Even the most adversarial factions towards the authority of revelation have become aware of the centrality of these texts, which puts them in a predicament with the Muslim public, leading them to reshape their perceptions to appear outwardly consistent with them.
This major conceptual battle necessitates careful attention to presenting an objective methodology for understanding texts and knowing the legal rulings and general principles. This will serve as a fair scientific scale in this battle, drawing clear boundaries that distinguish the broad jurisprudential domain that the evidence of Islamic law encompasses.
