Al-Aqeedah Al-Wasitiyah: A valuable treatise by Sheikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah – may Allah have mercy on him – in which he mentioned the majority of the fundamental issues of religion and the methodology of Ahl Al-Sunnah Wal Jama’ah regarding the sources of reception they rely on in matters of creed. Thus, it has held a significant position among Sunni scholars and students of knowledge due to its many advantages, such as its concise wording, precise meanings, and easy style. It also excelled in collecting rational and textual evidence for the fundamentals of religion. Some scholars have explained it, including Sheikh Saleh Al-Fawzan – may Allah preserve him – whose explanation is considered one of the most appropriate for the text of Al-Wasitiyah, as it addresses creedal topics according to the text. Its topics include: the pillars of faith, verses and hadiths about attributes, the trial of the grave, the Day of Judgment, intercession, divine decree and destiny, faith and Islam, the companions and the caliphate. He also clarified the most prominent مخالفين to the creed of the Salaf on these issues with a concise rebuttal.
From the author's introduction: This is a brief explanation of Al-Aqeedah Al-Wasitiyah by Sheikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, and it is an explanation that is commensurate with the understanding of secondary school students in the scientific institutes affiliated with Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University because this creed has been decided to be studied in the first year of that stage. I prepared this explanation from the following sources: 1 – Al-Rawda Al-Nadiyyah, an explanation of Al-Aqeedah Al-Wasitiyah by Sheikh Zaid bin Abdulaziz Ibn Fayyad. 2 – Al-Tanbeehat Al-Saniyyah on Al-Aqeedah Al-Wasitiyah by Sheikh Abdulaziz Ibn Nasser Al-Rashid. 3 – Al-Tanbeehat Al-Latifah fi ma ihtawat alayha Al-Wasitiyah min al-mabahith al-manifah by Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Nasser Al-Saadi. 4 – Regarding the interpretation of verses, I quoted from interpretation books such as Fath Al-Qadeer by Imam Muhammad bin Ali Al-Shawkani, and Tafsir Al-Quran Al-Azim by Sheikh: Ismail bin Kathir.
