Product Details

About the Book: The author compiled the story of the revelation in a simplified manner, and embarked on understanding the rules through the forms of sukoon and tanween, and the mechanisms and durations of letters, after observing the reason for the weakness of most graduates from Quran memorization courses, which is their lack of knowledge of the realities of revelation and its compilation in the Mushafs and then its ضبط (notation), and their direct engagement with Tajweed rules.

The author says:

“Among the aids to contemplation is good recitation and performance, and this is only achieved through direct learning from the mouths of experienced shaykhs and teachers. Moreover, the science of Quranic orthography and notation helps in understanding the secrets and eloquence of the Quran and the true purpose of its contemplation.”

In this book, the author was keen to explain the rules of Quranic orthography and notation in a way that serves both beginners and advanced students, linking theory with practice. She named it (Al-Sibṭ) meaning ease and simplicity, due to its accessibility and lack of lengthy historical accounts or extensive Hadith derivations. It is also enriched with mind maps and tables that make it easy for the student to understand its meaning without difficulty.

The author, “Amani bint Muhammad Ashour,” is a certified trainer and has Ijaza (authorization) in the Ten Minor Recitations individually and collectively through the Shāṭibiyyah and Durrah paths, and the Ten Major Recitations through the Tayyibat an-Nashr path. Additionally, she teaches and grants Ijaza in the Ten Minor and Major Recitations individually and collectively.
