It is not hidden from any student of knowledge the great importance of the opinions of the great Tabi' al-Tabi'in, may Allah have mercy on them, in enriching Islamic jurisprudence. Among them is the venerable Imam Abd al-Rahman ibn Amr al-Awza'i, may Allah have mercy on him, who had a long history in knowledge, especially in jurisprudence and hadith. This made Imam al-Awza'i occupy a prominent position among his peers of active scholars. He is the diligent scholar and the founder of an independent school of thought that is no less important than the well-known and widely spread schools of the four imams. In light of all this, Imam al-Awza'i, may Allah have mercy on him, with his firm standing in knowledge, deserved to have the principles of his vast jurisprudence extracted and studied extensively, in a manner befitting his scientific and intellectual value, as this jurisprudence did not come out of nowhere, but rather stemmed from fixed principles and fundamental foundations.
