About the Author

Dr. Hooman Keshavarzi is a licensed clinical psychologist with a Doctorate and Master’s in Clinical Psychology and formal training in Islamic Studies. He is the founding director of Khalil Center, the first Islamically oriented professional mental wellness center in North America, and currently serves as Program Director for the Masters in Counseling Islamic Psychology program in Doha, Qatar.

He is a senior fellow at the International Association for Islamic Psychology (IAIP), a visiting scholar at Ibn Haldun University in Istanbul, and adjunct faculty at Hartford Seminary. Dr. Keshavarzi is also an internationally recognized speaker and researcher focusing on the integration of Islamic spirituality and modern psychological practice.
