The book Tayseer Al-Allam Sharh Umdat Al-Ahkam is considered one of the most prominent contemporary commentaries on hadith books. It was authored by the scholar Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman Al Bassam, may Allah have mercy on him, as a commentary on the book Umdat Al-Ahkam by Al-Hafiz Abdul Ghani Al-Maqdisi, in which he collected a select group of the soundest hadiths of the Prophet ﷺ from Sahih Al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, arranged according to jurisprudential chapters.
This commentary came in an easy and clear style, bringing closer the meanings of the hadiths, and deriving rulings and jurisprudential benefits from them, with attention to explaining issues and preferring opinions, to be an aid for the student of knowledge to understand the evidence and act upon it.
