Cassia obovata, or as many would call it “neutral henna”, is a plant that can be utilized in many different ways. Native to Africa and Asia, this plant is usually processed into a fine powder for usage. The cassia obovata plant has flowers that are mostly yellow or orange in color and also produce lunate shaped seeds. Though many people confuse it as henna, cassia obovata isn’t henna.

Neutral Henna Powder
Aloe vera Powder
Hibiscus powder
Mix the powders with warm or hot water and let sit for 15-30 minutes. Make sure your mixture is like pancake batter.
Apply the cassia paste onto clean hair that is either dry or damp. Apply the mixture in layers starting from the back and moving forward.
Wrap your hair and leave on for at least an hour.
Rinse or wash paste out.
