Verily every Muslim who is eager and diligent upon the happiness and prosperity of his soul in this life and the next hears of this narration of Anas ibn Maalik (May Allah be pleased with him) and the likes of it there is no doubt that it will affect his heart and cause him to desire to be from amongst the keys of good and not from the keys of evil. No doubt that this is the desire of every Muslim. There isn’t a Muslim in this world except that you’ll find that he would love to be from amongst the People of Toobaa, i.e. Paradise, and not from the People of Wayl which is a severe torment that Allaah has prepared for the keys of evil and locks to good.
When the soul craves for this matter, i.e. being a key of good, it is imperative to fight and strive against the soul in order to actualize the means and execute its instructions and directives so that he will become a key to good and closer to evil in reality, action and application.
Hopes and wishes aren’t sufficient but rather the reality of the matter must be understood and there must be implementation accompanied with seeking the assistance of Allaah and beseechment of Him, the Most High. Beginning with the topic which is:
