فتح الباري شرح صحيح البخاري – ١٥ مجلد لقد كان من أعظم كتب ابن حجر قدراً، وأعمقها علوماً، وأحظاها لدى المسلمين: شرحه على الجامع الصحيح – الذي اتفق المسلمون على أنه أصح كتاب بعد كتاب الله – وهو صحيح الإمام البخاري (256)هـ الذي سمَّاه "فتح الباري بشرح صحيح البخاري" والذي يُعَّد بحق أحد دواوين الإسلام المعتبرة، ومصادره العلمية المهمة، فلا يستغني عنه طالب علم ولا فقيه؛ بل ولا مفتٍ ولا مجتهد، فجاء الشرح سفراً ضخماً جليلاً. أخذ في جمعه وتأليفه وإملائه وتنقيحه أكثر من خمس وعشرين سنة، حيث ابتدأه في أوائل سنة 817هـ، وعمره آنذاك 44 سنة، وفرغ منه في غرة رجب من سنة 842هـ فجمع فيه شروح من قبله على صحيح البخاري، باسطاً فيه إيضاح الصحيح وبيان مشكلاته، وحكاية مسائل الإجماع، وبسط الخلاف في الفقه والتصحيح والتضعيف واللغة والقراءات، مع العناية الواضحة بضبط الصحيح. صحيح البخاري ورواياته والتنويه على الفروق فيها، مع فوائد كثيرة وفرائد نادرة واستطرادات نافعة … إلخ حتى زادت موارد الحافظ فيه على (1200) كتاباً من مؤلفات السابقين له.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Fathul Bari Fi Sharhi Sahih Al-Bukhari, in English known as "Grant of the Creator" is the most valued sunni commentary of Sahih Al-Bukhari, written by Ibn Hajar Al-asqalani 8/9th Century Hijri. ‘Abd al-Hayy ibn ‘Abd al-Kabir al-Kattani said: “When the author of al-Hittah quoted Ibn Khaldun as saying that the explanation of Sahih al-Bukhari is a debt upon the Muslim nation, he said, ‘This debt has been fulfilled by the explanation of al-Hafith Ibn Hajar.’ For that reason, when it was suggested to Muhammad ibn ‘Ali al-Shawkani, that he write an explanation of al-Jami’ al-Sahih by al-Bukhari just as others have, he responded, ‘There is no migration after al-Fath,’ referring to Fath al-Bari."
