In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
All praise is due to Allah as He deserves, and the most perfect prayers and peace be upon His servant and messenger, and upon his companions.
To proceed:
The monotheism of the Creator, glory be to Him, is one of the most important matters that must be attended to, through authorship, publication, teaching, explanation, and guidance. It is the foundation to which all messengers called their nations, and it is the great goal for which Allah created mankind. Without it, Allah does not accept any act of devotion or deed. Allah, glorified be He, prepared those whom He chose from His creation to record this science and explain its truth as it came in the Qur'an and Sunnah, and as the righteous predecessors of this nation lived by it, who were the closest people in their era to the revelation and the most sincere in understanding it and applying its texts. And here is the book "Ma'arij Al-Qubool" by Sheikh Hafiz Al-Hakami, one of these books that appears today in a new form after it had received attention in terms of printing and publishing. However, today it receives another attention - worthy of mention - from the brother Sheikh / Muhammad Sobhi bin Hassan Hallaq, who spent much of his life serving many books of the righteous predecessors such as Imam Al-Shawkani and Ibn Amir Al-San'ani and others.
And his commendable effort had a clear impact in publishing books that remained obscure and exposed to damage, and this effort is considered an act of proximity to Allah Almighty. We ask Allah Almighty for reward and recompense for what he has done.
As for the effort he exerted in the book "Ma'arij Al-Qubool" which is before us, it is known through what he explained in his plan, which he obligated himself to follow, and also through
The comparison between the printed original, devoid of verification, and the effort spent by the verifier in serving the book. This is something that the reader does not need to be introduced to, and even if his effort was only to relieve the reader of the trouble of searching for hadiths and narrations, and informing him of their locations in and explaining the ruling of many of them in terms of authenticity and weakness, that would be enough effort for which he should be thanked. We do not stop at this point in praising the verifier for his effort in serving this book, but it is necessary to point out what is required of scholars and intellectuals to study such books and benefit from them, and live under their shade, and participate in their care so that they may take their rightful place, and so that this science does not disappear, and its features fade. It is a science that Muslims cannot do without in every era, and deviation among some sects in matters of creed only occurred due to ignorance of this science, and its foundation by philosophers and scholastic theology, in which the rational aspect prevailed over the text, and how can the limited and incapable human mind be guided to know its Creator, glory be to Him, without being guided by the texts of the Qur'an and Sunnah and adhering to their limits?
We ask Allah Almighty to prepare for this nation those who will renew the features of its religion, and to guide everyone to the path of righteousness. Indeed, He is the guardian of that and the able to do so, and all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds.
