This Book
The purpose of this book is to present to you, O you who adhere to the Sunnah, a sound, authentic, comprehensive, and categorized litany based on the meanings of supplications in one book.
The purpose of this book is to provide a satisfactory answer to some of what the Prophet used to say when he prolonged his supplication in times of acceptance, to the extent that his forehead would reach the ground until sunset. It is impossible for these supplications to be forgotten or not narrated, as they are part of the remembrance that Allah promised to preserve, and part of the wisdom that he was commanded to convey.
The purpose of this book is to offer the worshiper and the student of knowledge the sound and authentic material with which, and with similar material, our scholars used to converse with their Lord in their private litanies, desiring, fearing, weeping, delighting, striving, and persevering.
The purpose of this book is to help you bring your heart into the presence of your Lord while you are supplicating to Him.
The means of achieving this came:
Through categorizing and arranging the supplications as the Prophet used to arrange them in his supplication, mostly with litanies of praise first, then prayers upon him second, and seeking forgiveness third, and so on... And through what was written before each litany, with the melody of the soul and the ink of truth, in what we called (O heart, prepare), which, when read by the reader, he cannot help but bring his heart - by the permission of Allah - with the following great words of the litany, uttering them from the depths of his heart, even if they were from the sight of the eye, and the repetition of the tongue and lips.
And through the words of reminder that remind the reader of the greatness of the supplications he said after each litany, in what we called (Remember...), returning his heart to them, until he is satisfied and will not be content no matter how much he returns, moving to the next litany with greater spiritual readiness and higher ascent, and so on from ascent to ascent, and his Lord has not tired of his heart.
