You have before you, the interpretation of the most tremendous book on earth. This Noble Qur’an is the final revelation sent to mankind from the Creator; Allah, The Lord of all the Prophets and Messengers. It was received by the final Messenger, sent to mankind after a long succession of prophets and messengers, Muhammad the son of Abdullah, who was from the progeny of Ishmael the son of Abraham. May the peace and blessings of Allāh be upon them all.
It was revealed to him over a period of 23 years, its revelation began when the Prophet lived in Makkah, in the south of the Arabian Peninsula over 1400 years ago (610-632CE) when he was first visited by the Angel Gabriel. It was revealed for 13 years in Makkah and then for 10 years after the prophet’s migration to the city of Madinah in the north of the Arabian peninsula.
